PENERAPAN MAKANAN SEHAT DAN OLAHRAGA SENAM KAKI PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RW 2 DAN RW 3 KECAMATAN SUKAJADI BANDUNG JAWA BARAT

Abstract


Diabetes mellitus type 2 patients in RW 02 and RW 03 Sukajadi Bandung, increased 50% during the last 5 years. Many factors lead to an increase in the number of DM patients including lifestyle (uncontrolled food and low activity), genetic and community knowledge about low DM disease. So the purpose of community service is to know the influence of the application of healthy foods in lowering blood glucose levels and the application of foot exercises in reducing peripheral neuropathy The method of implementation begins with an interview to determine the general description of the subject, followed by blood glucose examination on days 0, 3, 7 and 14 after being given 2x daily healthy meals for 7 days, leg and educational gymnastics. Results of field observations, based on the long suffering DM most of 1-10 years even there is 1 person who just knew that she was suffering DM. Decrease in blood glucose level at 50%, after subjects are given healthy food with calories between 1500-1800 kcal .. Of 80% of patients with DM who experience peripheral neuropathy, decreased morbidity after doing leg exercises. Conclusion: healthy food prescriptions with regard to calorie intake can lower blood glucose while, regular exercise for leg exercises can reduce perifer neuropathy symptoms.
