KONSERVASI LINGKUNGAN BERBASIS MASYARAKAT DI DESA MOTILANGO, KABUPATEN GORONTALO UTARA

Abstract


Population tends to expand agricultural land by opening up new agricultural land to improve agricultural output. This has an impact on environmental damage in Mootilango Village. Therefore, a community-based environmental conservation program is implemented, with details of the program including: (1) Counseling on environmental damage and mitigation of natural disasters; (2) training, practice and assistance of land conservation techniques; (3) Counseling of organic farming system; (4) The socialization of the application of local wisdom in the cultivation of plants; (5) training and assistance of agricultural waste processing; (6) counseling and facilitation of environmental hygiene. Community-based environmental conservation efforts in Mootilango Village can assist in the development of high cultural and economic value environments. These efforts are supported by landscapes owned by Mootilango Village which is very potential to be developed ecotourism. Ecotourism is one of the green economy's fastest growing components and focuses on environmental conservation.
