Abstract

University role is not limited on teachings only. As reflected on Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, there are other duties, i.e. researching and building community capacity through a community development program. Based on that, this paper examines the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as university parameter in implementing its social function within the scope of education. By consistently employing this concept, university’s strategic role could be expanded toward empowering public and community as a whole, supporting by  university research and community development program. Identifying strategic stakeholder, building partnership, and combining internal resources with external stakeholder capacities become the next stages of CSR.
