NANOENKAPSULASI MINYAK BIJI KELOR

Abstract


Minyak biji kelor merupakan golongan edible oil berasal dari biji tanaman kelor yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan, antiaging, emolient, perawatan rambut dan pencerah kulit. Nanoenkapsulasi adalah proses melapisi suatu zat sebagai bahan inti dalam suatu membran polimer yang berukuran 1-1000 nm. Penelitian ini bertujuan  mengembangkan nanokapsul minyak biji kelor dan mendapatkan formula terbaik berdasarkan derajat ukuran partikel dan stabilitas sistem nanokapsul. Nanoenkapsulasi minyak biji kelor dilakukan dengan metode emulsifikasi-evaporasi menggunakan polimer polivinil alkohol (PVA), asam polilaktat (PLA) dan Na alginat dan surfaktan polisorbat 80. Karakterisasi nanokapsul meliputi kejernihan, ukuran partikel, zeta potensial, morfologi partikel dan stabilitas nanokapsul. Selanjutnya dipilih formula dengan ukuran partikel nanometer dan yang paling stabil. Formula I dengan polimer PVA-polisorbat 80 merupakan  formula terpilih dengan ukuran partikel 187 nm ± 13,05, polidispersitas indeks 0,210 ± 0.11 dan zeta potensial -36,7 ± 4,99 mV, homogen dan stabil secara fisik. Minyak biji kelor berhasil dikembangkan menjadi nanokapsul dengan metode emulsi- evaporasi. Nanokapsul minyak biji kelor dengan jenis polimer PVA dan surfaktan 80 menghasilkan sistem nanokapsul paling stabil selama penyimpanan pada suhu kamar selama 8 minggu.
