POTENSI ANTIBAKTERI FRAKSI EKSTRAK BUAH TIN DOMESTIK (Ficus carica L.) TERHADAP Pseudomonas aeruginosa dan Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract


Munculnya bakteri resisten yang cepat terjadi di seluruh dunia, membahayakan efikasi antibiotik. Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus yang resisten terhadap antimikroba membuat pemilihan antibiotika terbatas dan infeksi pada luka tidak dapat diobati. infeksi yang disebabkan Pseudomonas aeruginosa sering mengakibatkan kerusakan yang signifikan pada jaringan dan menunjukkan resistensi terhadap antibiotika. Penggunaan antibiotika yang berasal dari alam dapat menjadi alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan resistensi antibiotika. Salah satu tanaman yang sudah banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia adalah tanaman tin (Ficus carica L.). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi antibakteri ekstrak etanol buah tin yang didomestikasi di Indonesia terhadap bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa dan Staphylococcus aureus dengan metode difusi agar serta penetapan nilai Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM). Fraksi n-heksana dan fraksi air memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dengan nilai KHM masing-masing sebesar 1,25% dan 10%. Fraksi etil asetat memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa dan Staphylococcus aureus dengan nilai KHM sebesar 1,25%.
