Lahir di Jakarta, 16 Oktober 1959. Iamenyelesaikan studinya sebagai sarjana Public Relations FikomUnpad (1985) dan Magister Sains (M.Si.) KomunikasiPembangunan dari Program Pascasarjana Institut PertanianBogor (IPB), 1986. Pernah mengikuti program nongelar StudiPolitik Internasional di PAU Sosial UGM (1991), menjadi stafredaksi/wartawan Harian Ekonomi Bisnis Indonesia di Jakarta,selama tiga tahun (1986-1989), reporter non-organik padaharian yang sama di Bandung (1989-1995). Kini, ia menjabatsebagai Ketua Bidang Kajian Ilmu Humas Fikom Unpad. Selainsebagai dosen tetap di Fikom Unpad, ia juga mengajar sebagaidosen luar biasa pada Jurusan Humas, Fakultas Dakwah IAINSunan Gunungjati, STIE dan STBA Indonesia-Internasional,Interstudi School Public Relations Bandung, LPKIJ, LPTI,LP3I, dan dosen/instruktur (part-time) di Suskapen Seskoad,Widyaiswara LAN Jabar, serta Stikom Bandung. Tulisantulisannyatentang komunikasi dan masalah sosial banyakmenghiasi halaman surat kabar, antara lain Bandung Pos danBisnis Indonesia. Selain itu, ia juga kerap menjadi penyaji danmoderator di berbagai pertemuan ilmiah. Aktivitas lain, ia aktifdi BPC Perhumas Bandung sebagai sekrataris (1999-2000).
