Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran (Fikom Unpad), Bandung. Dilahirkan di Banten, 2 September 1943. Pendidikan S1-nya diperoleh dari Jurusan Public Relations Fikom Unpad (1971), kemudian melanjutkan pendidikan S2-nya di Program Magister Manajemen STIE IPWI (1995). Pada 1984, mengikuti AKTA V Universitas Terbuka. Sebelumnya, tahun 1977, pernah mengikuti Cooperative Management University of Wisconsin, USA. Berbagai jabatan yang pernah disandangnya, antara lain: Kasi Humas/Umum/Personalia PD Mamim Propinsi Jawa Barat (1966–1974); Manajer Pabrik Es PD Mamim (1974–1975); Ketua Komisi Etika dan Guru Besar Senat Fikom Unpad (1999); Ketua Umum DPP Asosiasi Karyawan Pendidikan Nasional (ASOKADIKNA); Vice President Asia Confederation Of Teachers (ACT/BATU/WCL); Anggota Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia (ISKI); Anggota Persatuan Hubungan Masyarakat (Perhumas); Anggota Asia Pasific of Educational Innovation for Development (ACEID/UNESCO), dan Sekretaris Senat Unpad Komisi III (1984-1988). Pernah mengajar di APDN (STPDN) Bandung; Sesko ABRI Bandung; Seskoad Bandung; SUSLEG Kodam III Siliwangi Bandung. Aktif mengikuti berbagai seminar di beberapa negara, antara lain: Britherhood of Asian Trade Unionist (Batu), Manila Bangkok-Singapore-Kualalumpur-Jakarta-Hongkong; World Confederation of Teachers(WCT), Singapore-Bangkok-Senegal; UNESCO-Bangkok; World Confedaration of Labors (WCL), Manila - mauritius – Bangkok; dan Seminar/Kongres di dalam negeri yang diselenggarakan oleh Perguruan Tinggi, Serikat Pekerja, Karya tulis/buku yang pernah ia tulis antara lain: “Konsep Marketing Public Relations di tengah Globalisasi” (Orasi Ilmiah Dies Natalis Fikom Unpad, 18 Septembar 1997); Motivasi, Partisispasi dan Pembengunan (UK Press, Jakarta 1997). Hubungan Industrial (Fikom Unpad, Bandung, 1998); dan Komunikasi Bisnis (Fikom Unpad, Bandung 1998). Ia juga banyak menulis puluhan makalah dan laporan hasil penelitian lainnya.
